Which Senior Grade is Right for Me?

We offer hockey for all ages. New to hockey? Not sure where you or your son/daughter fits in? Below is a guide to assist with this.

Year 11 to Adult Men and Women - Senior Division 2

Players from Year 11 are eligible to play in this grade and is a level higher in the pathway from Platinum.  This is a full-field hockey grade which is played on Sundays at Nunweek, Nga Puna Wai and Waimak. It is a grade that is suitable to players that have played hockey in the past and are competent all round hockey players and team members. The grade is a fully competitive competition that fields a full 11 players per side on the field. Full hockey rules are applied.  Players from Year 11 are eligible to play in this grade and is is a level higher in the pathway than Platinum.  

Year 9-13 Men and Women - Senior Platinum

Players in Year 9 and 10 must play in this grade, Players in Year 11, 12, 13 and U18 are eligible to play in this grade.  This is a full-field hockey grade which is played on Sundays at Nunweek, Nga Puna Wai and Waimak. There are three grades within the Platinum competition and is suitable for players that have played hockey in the past and are competent all round hockey players and team members as well as players looking to develop stick, passing and teamwork skills. The grade is a fully competitive competition that fields a full 11 players per side on the field. Full hockey rules are applied. 

Adult Men and Women - Mid Week Open

Players who are Adults are eligible to play in this grade and is a more social level of Senior Hockey .  Mens Play on a Monday, Womens Play on a Tuesday.  There are no trainings for this grade, This is a full-field hockey grade which is played at Nunweek, Nga Puna Wai and Waimak. It is a grade that is suitable for players that have played hockey in the past and are competent all round hockey players as well as players looking to develop stick, passing and teamwork skills.  The grade is a fully competitive competition that fields a full 11 players per side on the field. Full hockey rules are applied.
